Wednesday, September 27, 2023 –A shocking video that emerged on Twitter on Tuesday September 26 showing a woman beat up a security guard in a Nairobi Estate has continued eliciting mixed reactions.

Kenyans on social media expressed their disbelief as a young woman who had been angered by her security guard dissented on her with blows and kicks over something undisclosed.

In the video shared widely, the angry woman can be heard lecturing the female security guards while at the same time fighting before she sweeps her down on the ground and knocks her in the face several times.

“I have for long put up with your nonsense. Do you think I am that fool? Change your uniform and go stay in my house. Change your uniform and take up my space in my house,” she yells as she lands blows and kicks on the defenseless security guard.

This was happening as the whole estate watched from a distance since the angry mother would push away anyone who attempted to separate them from the fight.

At some point in the clip, a young man wearing a black short moves to try and cool down the woman but she responds with a heavy push away almost thrashing him on the ground, too.

Making this confirmation, Kileleshwa Member of County Assembly MCA Robert Alai claimed that the lady in the video recently separated with his husband over marital-related differences.

However, the man has continued gathering evidence on what happens in the compound despite him living in the United States U.S.A where he works.

“The woman beating the guard separated from her husband who is based in the US. The husband in the US has lots of information about what is happening in the compound and who his wife is hosting.

“Woman assaulted the guard over suspicion that she leaks information to the husband. The woman should be arrested for assault and causing body harm,” Alai clarified.

He, therefore, called upon the Directorate of Criminal Investigation DCI to hold the culprit liable for assault.

Nancy Baraza Incidence of 2012

A similar incident happened in 2012 when the then Kenya’s deputy chief justice had to face police investigations following claims that she threatened to shoot a security guard after refusing to be frisked in a mall.

The female guard said, DCJ Nancy Baraza ignored the security desk at the entrance to an upmarket shopping mall in Nairobi and threatened to shoot her.

By then, security had been intensified in Kenya following its incursion into Somalia in October and retaliatory attacks from Islamists.

According to a report to the police by the guard, Ms Baraza drove into the compound of the upmarket Westlands Trading Centre in Nairobi and parked her car 50m (54 yards) from the security desk at the entrance to the mall.

The guard said Ms Baraza ignored the security desk – at which all people entering the mall are frisked – before going to various shops.

The guard told the police that she told Ms Baraza that she was to be frisked but she ‘bragadly’ walked away.

Things got out of hand, the report said, when the deputy chief justice finished her shopping and came back.

She went to her car before coming back to the security guard and threatened to shoot her, the report said, if she persisted in what Ms Baraza is alleged to have termed as humiliating her despite her rank in the society.
