Details on how Banisa MP Kullow Maalim Hassan Died

Wednesday, March 29, 2023 –Banisa Member of Parliament MP Kullow Maalim Hassan has passed away after being involved in a ghastly road accident in Nairobi’s South C area on Saturday, March 25.

The family, speaking from Nairobi where they reside, confirmed that their beloved kin died on Tuesday March 29 while undergoing treatment at the Aga Khan University Hospital, Nairobi.

MP Kullow, a second term MP, succumbed to injuries from a motorcycle hit-and-run; with police efforts to get hold of the rider bearing no fruits.

He had been rushed to the facility which admitted him in the Intensive Care Unit ICU section where he was to be saved but it was a case of too late.

“Good Samaritans rushed him to Reliance Hospital in South C before he was transferred to Aga Khan Hospital where he passed on last night,” a close relative told The Standard.

A number of his colleagues and some friends eulogized him as a hardworking and dedicated legislator who served his people deligently.

“It is with great sorrow and profound sadness that I learn of the unfortunate demise of my friend and colleague, Banisa MP, Hon. Kullow Maalim Hassan, who passed away at Agha Khan Hospital.

“I share my deepest condolences with the family, friends and people of Banisa following this unfortunate loss and pray that Allah will grant them sabr and comfort during this lowest moment. May Allah grant his soul Jannatul Firdaws. Amiin Amiin,

“Kullow was the epitome of an illustrious leader, a devoted public servant and an amiable figure in the community who discharged his leadership responsibilities with great honour and dexterity,” Eldas MP Adan Keynan Keynan further eulogized.

The diseased leads Banisa Constituency found in Mandera County and he was elected on UDM Party ticket.

In 2017, he was first elected on the ticket of Economic Freedom Party EFP ticket and successfully defended the position in the August 9, 2022 polls under the United Democratic Movement UDM.
