Detectives Arrest Muggers who Threatened to Terrorise Christina Shusho Show

Thursday, December 7, 2023 –The five suspects namely Vincent Ochieng, Shadrack Ochieng, Felix Otieno, Salim Ali and Shafi Yusuf who had earlier been captured in a video recording while displaying items that they had stolen from their victims, have finally been arrested.

In a sleek raid conducted on Wednesday by Mombasa police officers, upon search, a navy-blue jacket that had been captured in the video recording, three iphones, a samsung phone, a memojo phone, a bluetooth headphone among other items were recovered from them.

Following an intelligence led operation, a team of officers based at Central Police Station in Mombasa arrested the five individuals suspected to be members of an organized criminal group that has been operating within Sargoi area and it’s neighborhoods.

The video which captured the attention of the entire nation was widely shared on Twitter and Facebook. The teens were threatening those who will be attending the Christina Shusho show scheduled end of this year.

“Mkuje na phones za nguvu. Hatutaki mkuje na vitu ovyo ovyo kama hizi which easily translates to “come with expensive accessories during Christina Shusho show,” they said in the viral clip.

Elsewhere, an armed suspect of robbery was yesterday gunned down while two others were arrested in Theta area within Juja Sub-County in Kiambu.

The three miscreants armed with a pistol and other crude weapons had accosted a male victim who was driving home at around 9PM.

The men forced their entry into his white Toyota Passo, before robbing him of his day’s earnings which were transferred from his MPesa account.

Fortunately, having gotten wind of the ongoing, detectives based at the Operations Support Unit swiftly responded to the distress call, ambushing the three-man gang while still inside the motor vehicle.

The culprits in both scenes have been processed pending arraignment in court.
