Monday, September 5, 2022 –An agent who took Daina Chepekmoi abroad for house help job has finally broken her silence saying her attempts to rescue the girl were curtailed at some point by Saudi Arabia authorities who had colluded with the employer.
Reacting to the ongoing claims that the Meru University girl had been going through harassment in the Gulf country, her agent Susan Makungu agreed with the same only that she was waiting for the Saudi Arabian authorities and Embassy to deliver travel documents to the victim in her employers residence.
Makungu, while condemning the action against the 24 year old lady, highlighted that her previous rescue attempts could not go far as the employer kept taking her in circles.
“I was ready to pay the air ticket, I was waiting for foreign affairs and the Kenyan embassy to go to the house and give her an exit. She is not lying she is speaking the truth, she is sick and they are mistreating her,” Makungu stated.
And speaking to Citizen TV, Chepkemoi’s sister, Lorrain Cheptoo, affirmed that the employer had dismissed the harassment claims by terming the 24-year-old student as a tireless complainer who never missed to have an excuse.
“You could tell something was wrong, she said the boss was mistreating her, she was ill, couldn’t access hospital and her health was deteriorating quickly. The boss would only give her painkillers,” she stated.
So far Chepkemoi has since been rescued is she is on her way back to Kenya.
