The varsity girl traveled to the Gulf nation to seek money for her campus studies when life had become unbearable in Kenya.
She was a third year student in Meru University taking a food science course before she left to the Arabian nation.
Though her parents were reluctant when she broke the news of flying abroad, they could do nothing since that was her only remaining option.
Her photos in which she appeared haggard went viral as the country burst into calls through the embassy to save her.
And Speaking to Citizen Digital in the morning, Diana’s sister, Lorrain Cheptoo, disclosed that her sibling is being held in Saudi Arabia against her wishes.
“Diana is the second born in our family, she was pursuing food science and management before she deferred her studies because of financial issues. She looked for ways to make a living until mid-last year she got an opportunity to travel to Saudi Arabia as a domestic worker,” Cheptoo said.
Cheptoo also added that she last saw her sister in January last year.
