Friday, November 19, 2021 –Ex-Kiambu Governor William Kabogo has launched a campaign against any presidential endorsement from the Statehouse.
In a direct attack to President Uhuru Kenyatta, Mr. Kabogo argued that the President must do what his predecessor Mwai Kibaki did after serving his two terms by remaining silent and walking away from political scene.
In an interview with a local daily, the fire-spitting Kabogo noted that Uhuru might go down as the worst leader if he tries to force Raila Odinga on the people of this country.
“We gave him the mandate for 10 years, he is finishing that mandate, and someone else will come.
“He can’t tell Kenyans who to choose next year. No. He is our leader and can speak to us persuasively but not by force,” Kabogo said.
Kabogo, a close ally of Uhuru, said just like his newly-formed political party Tujibee Wakenya dictates, every citizen must be given a democratic space to make sound choices at the ballot.
“If they decide poorly, which they may, they will be in for it, they will suffer the more. As it is, they are suffering right now,” he said.
He was saying this just a day after holding a crisis meeting with a section of key Mt Kenya party leaders among them Narc-Kenya Party boss Martha Karua and Mwangi Kiunjuri.
