“We thank you (Ruto) for the great efforts you have put in to restore the economy. Through prudent management and well-thought-out interventions, you have successfully brought down the cost of unga from an all-time high of sh 230 to sh 150,” he stated.

This quickly saw the audience react with negativity forcing the DP to try to explain why some retailers were still selling highly.

“This is depending on where you are buying…its true… its in between sh 150 and 170,” explained Gachagua amid the noise.

He also addressed the opposition protest issue saying President William Ruto had done everything possible to reach out to his opponents and to encourage dialogue but Azimio seem not ready for the peace.

Azimio la Umoja people have been given a chance but they have decided to go back to the streets. What they must know is that President Ruto swore to protect and uphold the constitution,” he added.
