Thursday, September 26, 2024 –Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua who is facing impeachment motion at the Parliament today attended a joint memorial service at Endarasha School in Nyeri County.
Gachagua indicated how he is equally deeply pained by the loss of 21 children in the Hillside Endarasha Academy fire tragedy.
“Today, I have joined the parents, the pupils, the school fraternity, the Endarasha Community and Nyeri County, at the memorial service of the departed young souls at Mweiga Stadium, Kieni Constituency. May their souls Rest in Eternal Peace,” he wrote the statement on his X platform.
Emotions ran high among parents and neighbours as the bodies of the 21 Hillside Endarasha Academy victims were paraded at Mweiga Stadium for a memorial service.
Also present was Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka, Governor Mutahi Kahiga, former Defense Cabinet Secretary CS Eugene Wamalwa among others.
