Sunday, March 17, 2024 -Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has warned elected leaders in the rulling party UDA to respect the President.
Addressing in Bomet County on Sunday March 17, a visibly angry Gachagua expressed open disbelief that elected leaders are no longer respectful to the president especially during public meetings and rallies.
“I will call all these leaders to a round table and ask them to learn being respectful to you Mr. President.
“All of them in UDA must be tolerant going forward or face music. I won’t allow our party to degenerate into disorderliness,” he promised.
According to the DP, he added, both Kikuyus and Kalenjins should respect the current leadership of the country because they voted them, to man.
He noted further that getting to the State House is not a walk in the park and the two communities should take this gift serious.
“It’s sad that now news on major tvs in the country is all about chaos and heckling . All the president did good is not covered in our news. We all saw yesterday what the news was all about,” he stated.
On his part, President William Ruto who had a rough time quelling the chaos that pitted locals against area governor Hillary Barchok, challenged those who feel he(governor) was incompetent should wait him again on the ballot in the next polls to be held in 2027.
