Tuesday, December 21, 2021 –The popularity of key presidential candidates – Deputy President William Ruto and former Prime Minister Raila Odinga – is almost tying.
Renowned Political analyst Mutahi Ngunyi conducted his latest opinion polls on Tuesday December 21 and the results indicated that the deputy president’s popularity is slumping while that of ODM Party leader Raila Odinga his picking up very fast.
The race to succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta is now taking new shape as camps and coalitions also crop up.
And since the ODM Party leader Raila Odinga made his presidential bid public at an event dubbed Azimio la Umoja held at Kasarani Stadium in Nairobi on Friday December 10, his popularity seems to be gaining numbers by day.
“I have just noticed that Deputy President William Ruto has dropped from 65% to 46% while Baba who is in a vacation and yet to start campaigning has improved from 32% to 45%. Should we talk about OKA today or we postpone to another day?” a user with initials JG commented.
Another user also added weight to the same voice arguing that Ruto has been aggressively campaigning all over the country since 2013 but, unbelievably, Odinga who has been away from campaigns is closing in on him and its just a matter of time before tables are turned.
“Someone campaigning since 2018. Another one tested mic for only 3 occasions na bindu bimechange. Haki waDAKu mtaona light lini mjue the path mnafuata haiendi mahali??” King Alfred.
Comparing today’s results with what was there a couple of weeks ago, from the same source, it is evident that Ruto’s popularity has dropped by a huge margin while Odinga’s has fired up by a significant percentage.
