Saturday, October 12, 2024 –Popular Nyanza musician Princes Julie has passed on.
The benga star was confirmed dead by family members and friends following a protracted illness that saw her in and out of hospital.
Different Leaders among them Kapsaret Member of Parliament Oscar Sudi also joined the bereaved family members in mourning the late Nyanza musician.
“The demise of Princess Julie is not only a great loss to the music fraternity, but a painful loss to Kenya. At a time when many people could not speak about the HIV and AIDS scourge, she created massive awareness through her hit song Dunia Mbaya. As she departs this world, may God grant her eternal life and comfort her family,” MP Oscar Sudi mourned.
The late artist was popular with her song Dunia Mbaya which sensitised about HIV aids awareness in the society.
The composition was so big and was celebrated in 90s; what shot her to an overnight fame.
