Elderly man insulted by Magoha is a Masters holder who studied abroad

For the first time, unknown background details have emerged about the famous Uasin Gishu Director of Education who CS Prof George Magoha hurled insults at infront of learners.

Prof George Magoha and Gitonga Mbaka during the fateful day in Uasin Gishu County.

Magoha, during his daylong inspection tour in Uasin Gishu County, opened a fire of insults at the elderly Education official leading to a public outrage.

The “idiot” slur, however, seems ironic for a man, with a doctorate from America’s Northwestern Christian University, a Master of Education degree from Australia’s Monash University, and a Bachelor of Education degree from Kenyatta University.

Dr Gitonga Mbaka termed his humiliation as unfortunate, further saying that he saw no need to engage the CS in a verbal altercation since it would have led to more harm within their working environment.

“There was no way I was going to engage the CS in an exchange of words when there were pupils there. It could have been a sign of disrespect,” he said.

He has also indicated that some of his colleagues had advised him to ignore whatever treatment he was given by the CS and focus on his work.

“I have been receiving calls and text messages from my colleagues and directors at Jogoo House and even other officers who have also faced the same wrath from Prof Magoha, urging me to ignore what happened and concentrate on my work,” said Dr Mbaka.

The academician has also told a local media that he had decided to put all that behind him so that deliver services given to him by the employer.

“I have forgiven the CS and I am focused on serving the country as I prepare for my retirement in March 2021 after over 35 years of service in the education sector,” he told one of the local publications.

“…The PSC is my employer and I have left everything to them to decide. Any decision they make is up to them”.

Prof Magoha, on the other hand, has indicated that no man is perfect and that he cannot regret being who he is and asked all public servants to respect their work without supervision.
