Eliud Kipchoge Accused, Sued Over Fraudulent Land Deal

Wednesday, May 15, 2024 –Athlete Eliud Kipchoge has been dragged to court over ash 100M parcel of land in Uasin Gishu County where he comes from.

Alongside two local businessmen, the legendary runner is accused by Daniel Komen’s wife of buying the property before she was consulted.

In the matter now at Eldoret High Court, Komen’s wife affirms that her land was sold without her signature and that the exercise was fraudulent and ought to be stopped by the court, urgently.

In the signed court papers, she wants the sale agreement annulled and the subsequent Title Deed also struck out as illegal; saying the whole process was shrouded in mystery.

The said land measures 200 acres and is registered as Southern East of Eldoret Municipality in Uasin Gishu County.

The complainant was shocked to find Kipchoge and the two businessmen occupying the land even though she was not aware of any transaction.

Komen’s wife further accused the trio of taking advantage of her husband to buy the land at a throwaway price despite the property being located in a prime area in Uasin Gishu.
