Thursday, July 29, 2021 -Orange Democratic Movement ODM party has formally exited their National Super Alliance NASA coalition.

This is happening just days after Musalia Mudavadi’s ANC Party announced its withdrawal from the coalition with Kalonzo’s Wiper Party also threatening to walk out.

Speaking this on Thursday July 29, ODM Party Secretary General Edwin Sifuna confirmed that their party ODM had also reached resolutions to exit the 2017 coalition.

In the statement, Mr. Sifuna said that the ODM party had held a meeting on Thursday July 29 and came up with the decision so that it can seek new partnerships ahead of 2022.

“We intend to embark on a programme to build new partnerships and extend the ongoing talks with our potential partners to the grassroots,” read the statement in part.

He also refuted claims that ODM Party had released funds to their NASA affiliates to attract them back into another coalition for 2022.

“The party is therefore dismayed by statements attributed to our former partners that the offer was somehow a vindication of their long running grievance and that the same was made in a desperate attempt to keep them in the Coalition. Nothing could be further from truth,” he stated.

To that end, the vocal Sec gen noted that regional meetings and engagements had begun to bring on board like-minded partners in preparation for 2022 duel.

In their 2017 Coalition agreement, they agreed that NASA coalition would stop existing when at least three constituent members formally write to exit.
