Thursday, June 1, 2023 –Comedian Erick Omondi has lashed at Kenya Kwanza government for reportedly planning to tax content creators in the country.
Speaking to various media houses through a clip that we have received on our news desk on Thursday June 1, Erick has warned the William Ruto-led administration against taxing people who his government had done absolutely nothing to support them.
Erick who turned into a self-styled Human Rights activist went on to promise to lead thousands of content creators around the country to the streets if the current government will not withdraw the punitive taxing plan indicated in the Finance Bill 2023.
“You Gachagua, you Ruto and you the Cabinet, stop your evil plans of taxing the small content creators who have devised means to fend for themselves.
“You are now coming for the little sh 30,000 they make through their social media platforms as if you have supported them before.
“You must stop this now,” he charged.
Of late, the comedian-turned-activist has been brushing shoulders with the authorities which he claims is frustrating her citizens with high cost of living.
Apart from having been arrested at Parliament building recently, he was also intercepted by law enforcers carrying bundles of Curriculum Vitae CVs headed to the Statehouse in protest of lack of jobs among the youth.
He has severally been arrested in Nairobi conducting anti-State protests.
