The Rio De Jeneiro Olympics scandal which attracted a lot of heat in the country had other co-accused who included co-convict Stephen Soi who was today handed a 12 year jail term or a sh 105.6 million fine.
This is coming just a day after the Milimani Law Court found them guilty of abuse of office and willfully failing to comply with public fund management ethics.
In the Rio case, the former Ambassador to Austria used his influence to insert three persons on the list of those who traveled with the team. These three are Monica Sairo, Richard Abura and Edan Adow.
“The additional names were included after they closed the accreditation… Clearly this was an indicator that the three were not part of the team Kenya,” ruling read in part.
The former Cabinet Secretary was lucky as one charge on unplanned projects was dropped from the charge-sheet.
Should they fail to pay their respective fines, they risk serving their full terms behind bars.
