Thursday, June 29, 2023 –Former Treasury official Tom Osinde has been found dead with his decomposing body discovered in river Kuja in Migori. DCI Mohamed Amin confirmed the discovery and identification of body.
The body was discovered in the river on Thursday June 22 and taken to a nearby mortuary where nobody had identified it as Osinde.
The mutilated body would finally be identified by both the family and the two key suspects who are already in police custody.
In a report reaching Homenews.co.ke desk on Thursday June 29, his body was picked from the River by Kamagambo Police officers.
Police have also managed to recover the polythene papers the suspects used to choke the victim to his death.
More details indicated that the police who were combing through every clue found some of his personal items in the vandalised car.
Making this confirmation, Osinde’s brother Nemwel Osinde, has told the media that, finally the long search for his brother had come to a sad end and, as a family, they have to wait for justice to prevail even as they plan to lay to rest his mutilated body.
“Thank you, friends, for your outpouring of love, prayers and support during my brother’s search. Unfortunately, the outcome isn’t the one we anticipated. Tom was killed and his body was found in Migori County. Please continue praying for us as try to come to terms,” he wrote.
So far, the police have arrested two of his workers who led them to the body where they had dumped Mr. Osinde.
The banker Mr. Osinde went missing on June 18 while traveling from his Nakuru home to Borabu, Kisii County.
Rongai head of DCI Donnata Atieno said the suspects in custody are workers to Osinde at his Ngata home in Nakuru County.
