Monday, February 1, 2021 -Vocal Budalang’i legislator Raphael Wanjala has reminded Musalia Mudavadi that those heaping praises at him for being a humble politician are after fooling him.
Speaking at Sosa Cottage in Hamisi Vihiga County, MP Wanjala challenged the Amani National Congress ANC Party boss to step out the way his rivals Raila Odinga and William Ruto are doing to seek power.
According to the MP, there was no free power out there waiting to be handed to the ‘best humble person’ and for Musalia to be fooled by some individuals that Uhuru and Raila will back him on such flimsy grounds was making him to remain in a comfort zone. Such individuals, according to Wanjala, could be moles in his camp sent deliberately to slow down his bid.
The MP noted that those busy rallying Odinga, President Uhuru and William Ruto to throw weight behind Musalia were only looking for the ANC nomination tickets ahead of the general elections.
“Face off your competitors squarely,” Wanjala said.
“We have seen DP William Ruto moving around. We have seen Baba [Raila Odinga] moving around as well to seek Kenyans’ support,” he said as reported by the Star.
For instance, past weekend, the Deputy President was at both Khwisero and Matungu Constituencies in Kakamega attending to functions in churches and funerals while Mr. Mudavadi was conspicuously missing despite the area being his home-ground.
“Mudavadi should move around and seek votes from Kenyans,” he added.
Wanjala’s views are in tandem with what Vihiga Senator George Khaniri had, a day ago, said in regard to how Mudavadi should change tact to be able to win more souls ahead of the next elections.
