Friday, November 26, 2021 –Embattled Football Kenya Federation FKF President Nick Mwendwa has been re-arrested just a day after court cleared him of any wrong doing.
Mr. Mwendwa was reportedly arrested by Directorate of Criminal Investigations DCI officers on Friday November 26 morning while at Ridgeways Nairobi.
He would then be rushed to the DCI headquarters along Kiambu Road for interrogation on the lost millions at FKF.
Details about this second arrest were still scanty but sources privy to happenings claimed that it was a relation to the ongoing probe on misuse of million meant for taxpayers.
The arrest is happening barely two days after the State withdrew the fraud case against him and his sh 4 million he had deposited as bail refunded.
This is after the Prosecution side had failed to prefer charges against the accsued within the stipulated seven days period.
“We seek to close the file as we proceed with investigations at our own pace before we prefer charges against him,” the prosecution stated.
It saw senior Resident Magistrate Wandia Nyamu accept the request and ordered the case closed until further notice.
