Wednesday, March 17, 2021 -Tanzanian President John Pombe Magufuli is dead. Vice president Samia Suluhu has confirmed.
Speaking to the Nation through major Tv stations today Wednesday march 17 at 10.30, VP Suluhu asked all Tanzanian nationals to remain calm as the mourning kicks off in their country following the sad report. She promised that the government was doing all that it could to accord the late president a befitting send off.
“Tumempoteza mheshimiwa John Poembe Joseph Maguifuli ambaye amefariki kwa maradhi ya moyo. Alilalazwa tarehe sita Machi mwaka huu,” VP announced the breaking news.
She announced that the late president has for long been battling chronic heart related complications and on March 14 it became worse before he was rushed to the hospital.

He was getting treatment at Jakaya Kikwete facility where he finally died, according to Tanzania government.
Magufuli who was married to Janet Magufuli with whom they have five children was a mere mathematics teacher before he rose to the top of Tanzania politics.
All Tanzania flags will be raised at half mast for 14 days.
