Saturday, October 8, 2022 –William Chepkut, former Ainabkoi Member of Parliament, is dead.

His family announced that the politician breathed his last on Saturday October 8 morning after he collapsed; and pronounced dead on being rushed to Mediheal Hospital in Parklands.

The outspoken ex-legislator served Ainabkoi people between the years 2017 and 2022 after he won as an independent candidate in the elections.

His second attempt to defend his seat on Independent ticket flopped as the wave for the newly-formed United Democratic Alliance UDA Party was too much.

The highly humorous politician would then lose the election to UDA Party candidate, Mr. Samuel Chepkonga who had full blessings of the current president.

During his campaigns, he would frequently refer to himself as ‘the only soul alive’ and locals described him as a down to earth man. In fact in most cases, he traveled on boda boda which took him around his Constituency.

He borrowed his way of working from his former boss, the late Nicholas Biwott, who appointed him as his personal assistant in the Moi Regime.
