Wednesday, December 29, 2021 –Ex-Sports Cabinet Secretary Rashid Echesa has cautioned Amani National Congress ANC Party members against meddling in ODM affairs.
Addressing on Tuesday December 28, Echesa said it was an unfounded idea to disrupt Raila Odinga’s Azimio Rally organized by Central Organization of Trade Union COTU boss Francis Atwoli at Bukhungu Stadium on December 31.
In a bare knuckle speech, Mr. Echesa noted that all presidential candidates are allowed to hold their rallies anywhere without interference.
“I would like to tell Musalia Mudavadi, in all due respect, he has been a Minister and so have I. I must correct him. We will not accept a leader to cause a fallout between the Luhya Nation and other tribes,” he stated.
That though he has his issues with the former premier, he must be allowed to carry on his Azimio campaigns in Luhya land without questioning.
“You cannot desire to govern the country as the President while causing divisions between your tribe and others. I have had my political issues with Raila but I have never barred him from coming to Western,” he added.
He was speaking this after vocal Kakamega Senator Cleophas Malala had threatened to hire goons to disrupt the rally saying this was ‘his bedroom’ and therefore ought to be protected.
