Tuesday, August 15, 2023 –Detectives have today arrested four individuals in a crackdown against drug trafficking.
In the Tuesday August 15 raid which was confirmed by the National Police Service NPS, a whopping sh 12, 975,000 was also recovered from the suspects.
The crackdown was conducted by police from Parklands who acted on an accurate tip off from an anonymous citizen, moved swiftly before pouncing on the four individuals.
The police statement made on the matter indicated that Eugene Jumba, Hillary Jumbo, Sheila Withers and Teresa Wanjiru were arrested with 26 bags of Canabis Sativa (Marijuana), four cartons of rolling materials and the cash stashed in sacks.
“Police in Parklands, Nairobi today August 15, 2023 recovered twelve million nine hundred and seventy-five thousand Kenyan Shillings (sh 12, 975,000/=) and suspected marijuana substances,” confirmed the police statement.
The multi-Agency team, while reporting the successful raid, noted that this operation targeted Kariwa Slums in Ngara in Nairobi City.
“173 pieces of suspected blended drug/bhang, 42 cartons each containing 200 pieces of cigarettes were part of the recovered exhibits,” the NPS further stated.
The police told the media that the Directorate of Criminal Investigations DCI Anti-Narcotics Unit is currently investigating the case to unravel the whole network before pressing necessary charges.
