Sunday, April 21, 2024 –The fallen Chief of Defence Forces CDF Francis Ogolla will finally be laid to rest today Sunday April 21, as per his own wishes.
The family asked the State to lay to rest their kin on this date saying this is what the late had preferred before he crashed in the plane in Elgeyo Marakwet County.
The burial will have leaders from across the divide including both the opposition and the government bosses, Raila Odinga and President William Ruto.
On Saturday during the funeral service held in Nairobi, Raila urged President William Ruto to not discuss the events that surrounded Bomas 2022 election and how Ogolla was involved.
“Ogolla could not have gone to the Bomas to intimidate Chebukati to interfere wit election results. Your excellency let’s not talk about this and allow Ogolla to rest in peace,” Odinag advised
On his behalf, President Ruto narrated how Ogolla got to be appointed to the CDF position saying; the late gave him three options – to send him to the Forces court marshal, allow him to resign or forgive him.
