Friday, May 12, 2023 –Nairobi scholar Fred Ogola has broken his silence days after a rumour about losing his lecture job at the Strathmore, went round.

Through his social media accounts, on Friday may 12, the lecturer-cum-consultant noted that the rumour was true following a fallout with the management.

He was sent packing on the eve of the Easter Holiday and has said this development was hard to put up with as he had to take time to share it out with the wife.

“Clarify, true was fired by @SBSKenya on Holy Thursday. It wasn’t easy even to tell my wife because it was just before my wedding and I talk highly of Strathmore. My students can attest. My son believes he will go to Strathmore. I appealed the decision, waiting for the response,” he tweeted accompanied with a video.

The professor went on to state that he takes every crisis with grace since this is his appropriate time to learn, and re-strategise.

“I have always told people, my students, my colleagues my staff, and everyone else that the biggest thing you need in life is more crisis. So, this is one of my eighth crises in life, and am sure it’s gonna make me better. Crises make people stronger,” he remarked.

He, therefore, advised everyone to always be ready for what life brings with it and never to be afraid of challenges since life has never and will never be a straight line.

Mr. Ogola is a director at Institute of Strategy and Competitiveness. He also is a strategist, lobbyist, community development leader, political strategist as well as Chief Executive Officer at Africa Health Economic Initiative.

Recently while speaking on K24 show with fellow panelists, Dr Ogola said a lot had been peddled around his sacking some saying he was fired from Strathmore because of performance reasons while a section attributing his situation to his political comments on the ruling regime.

“It has nothing to do with performance but I heard rumors that because I have been commenting against the President, then he must have advised Strathmore to fire me, but the truth will come out as we go through the process,” he clarified.

Ogola promised that his sacking will be reviewed through the justice system where he has since taken it.
