Sunday, February 11, 2024 – Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has blamed alcoholism on Chief Justice Martha Koome.
Gachagua, who was speaking in Kirinyaga County on Saturday February 10, blamed the Martha Koome-led courts for colluding with illicit brew makers around Mt Kenya.
He pointed out instances where illegal brewers had been taken to court only to be released by corrupt judges.
“There is one man who is notorious in this area. He has been arrested 13 times for selling dangerous liquor to our youth but the courts keep releasing him back again,” he claimed.
Gachagua noted that the Judiciary is sleeping on the job or is intentionally sabotaging the National government for unknown reasons.
The visibly angry Gachagua said, the Judiciary is not worried about how many people are losing their lives on alcoholism.
He seized the opportunity to laud area governor Anne Waiguru for her efforts to fighting alcoholism among young men in Kirinyaga.
He, therefore, promised to bring more dedicated police officers in the area to support the governor’s course.
