Monday, June 19, 2023 –Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has defended his Boss President William Ruto’s unending foreign trips and luxuries costing Kenyans billions.
Speaking in a Nairobi function on Monday June 19 noon, Mr Gachagua wondered why Kenyans and, especially the media, were complaining about the many tours the president make in the name of bilateral relationships with other countries.
He clarified that the trips are meant to bring prosperity and development in the country and, therefore, are inevitable.
The DP said he is confused on what those who are complaining want since he(Gachagua) has been under sharp criticism for not being able to travel as much as Ruto or Chief Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi.
“I don’t understand these people, they complain that President Ruto is travelling too much and at the same time they complain that I’m not travelling,” DP Gachagua stated.

When he travels, he is always accompanied by a line of his aides and Cabinet members at the cost of tax payers’ money.
Ruto, in a nutshell, has outspend his predecessors, on luxury by thrice the amount; overseeing a presidency that seems not to care about how much they spent on themselves rather than the citizens.
