Wednesday, June 7, 2023 –The lady who moved Dr. William Ruto’s seat from Uhuru Kenyatta’s table, during the 2022 National Prayer Breakfast, was made part of the discussion during this year’s National Prayers held at Safari Park Hotel, Nairobi today.
The undisclosed lady who works at the Statehouse is reported to have moved with speed to pull out Ruto’s seat from where then president Uhuru Kenyatta was sitting and, instead, put it around a different table.
This took place during the last National Prayer Breakfast event of May 26, 2022 which was graced by then head of State, Uhuru Kenyatta.
Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, today Wednesday, June 7, revisited what happened on that particular day when Ruto was ‘humiliated’ by his predecessor.
And when Ruto had won the presidency, most of them started pushing out the lady in question but when Ruto learnt of it, he instead decided to maintain her in office and even went ahead to give her a promotion.
Ruto told them that she was a small fish who was used by powerful men at that time to cause divisions in government.
“When we were trying to align people around the President, many people around us believed that the lady who removed the seat where the President was to sit, should be shown the door.
“When the President learnt about it, he stated that she followed protocol and was even promoted. Today, she works around the President,” he added.
In the 2022 annual event, Uhuru and Ruto broke the norm as they sat at separate tables. Uhuru sat alongside Chief Justice Martha Koome and former Attorney General Paul Kihara Kariuki.
Ruto would occupy the next table with Attorney General Justin Muturi and Bungoma Governor Kenneth Lusaka, who by that time were the National Assembly and Senate Speakers, respectively.
