Wednesday, August 23, 2023 –Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has rubbished the ongoing bipartisan discussions at the Bomas of Kenya.

Speaking in the burial ceremony of the late Anne Musau, who is the mother of Mwala MP Vincent Musyoka (Kawaya), on Tuesday August 23, DP Gachagua said the opposition leader Raila Odinga was wasting Kalonzo Musyoka’s time on matters that won’t bring anything meaningful to those in the opposition.

He accused Mr. Odinga of hiding behind the Bomas talks while at the same time meeting the President behind closed doors to push for his own selfish interests.

”Raila na Ruto walishamalizana kitambo huko Mombasa, sahi wanasumbua tu Kalonzo bure,” DP Gachagua dismissed the Bipartisan talks,

The DP also said the recent Ruto-Raila meeting in Mombasa saw the latter agree with the government of William Ruto.

He, however, said to Machakos residents that remaining with Kalonzo as their kingpin will again waste their time towards and beyond 2027.

“Raila wanted positions in our government but this time we have told him we are not repeating what Uhuru did with him in 2018.

“He has asked for three ambassadorial slots and a Handshake which we won’t give to him cone what may.

“Nothing will come out of those talks. It is a waste of time. I’m telling you as deputy president of the Republic of Kenya,” he said,” Gachagua added.

According to the second in command, Kalonzo had wasted alot of years backing Odinga’s presidential journey that has no future.

He reminisced the 2018 Handshake between the then President Uhuru Kenyatta and Mr. Odinga where he claimed that Odinga only fought for his own personal and family interests and left out Kalonzo and the entire Ukambani Region despite the support he received from the area.

The former Mathira Constituency Lawmaker advised Kalonzo to abandon the Bomas of Kenya talks and support their government.

Bipartisan talks are chaired by both Majority leader Kimani Ichung’wah and the former vice president Kalonzo Musyoka.

On Monday during its third siting, Musyoka was conspicuously absent with reports that he had flown out for private businesses.
