Thursday, February 15, 2014 –A video showing how angry Deputy President was when a section of residents in Kiambu heckled their tour on Wednesday has emerged.
In the clip shared widely on major platforms and received on our Kenyawide.com desk, the angry DP can be seen calling out the locals for making noise at those addressing.
The DP strongly condemned the incident saying the behaviour was unruly and should be left for the Orange Democratic Movement ODM Party members and the opposition.
While likening Ruto to a king, the DP also opined that it was shameful that the residents were heckling a president who had visited their land for development.
At the same time, the DP asserted that the behaviour would not be condoned and that whoever was against any leader’s speech should keep silent until next campaigns.
The DP further expressed regret over the incident and apologised to the head of State affirming that the behaviour would not be repeated. He also stressed to the residents that any disagreements with leaders should, instead, be reflected on the ballot.
“Mimi rais nimeona aibu nikiwa kiongozi, nimeona aibu nikiwa hapa na hio maneno staki…kama hupendi vile gavana, MP anasema nyamaza, si ile siku ya debe utaonana nayeye…,” he added.
The two were on a development visit around Mt. Kenya Region where President Ruto joined the people of Lari Constituency, Kiambu County, for the launch of construction of the Uplands-Kiijabe-Maai Mahiu Road that will facilitate access to markets for farm produce.
He also inaugurated of Kenya Medical Training College-Kangema Campus in Murang’a County among other projects.
