Friday, August 13, 2021 -Mathira Member of Parliament Rigathi Gachagua now says President Uhuru Kenyatta also has a right like anyone to endorse Raila Odinga.
Rigathi being a vocal leader from Mt. Kenya Region who is behind the William Ruto presidency now believes Uhuru’s decision is also valid and they have nothing they can do as of now.
He said this with Daily Nation where he indicated that despite their political loyalty differing with a section of leaders in Jubilee government, they would like everyone to respect the ideals and agenda of each other as 2022 campaigns takes shape.
“Uhuru is within rights to endorse Raial Odinga for Presidency,” Gachagua stated as quoted by Daily Nation newspaper.
The MP noted that, just like he thinks Ruto could make a good president after Uhuru so is anyone thinking of a Raila Odinga presidency.
With only 12 months away from next polls, President Uhuru Kenyatta has embarked on a journey to sell Odinga around his Mt. Kenya home. A series of popularization tours have already kicked off in the vote rich region.
On that note, locals have also started weighing in on who between Ruto and Odinga could make a good leader by championing for their needs as well as protecting their long preserved interests. They are taking time to learn who is genuine and who is not between the two key politicians eyeing the top seat.
