Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has urged the Gen Zs to keep pushing this government hard through social media spaces.
Speaking from Kakamega on Sunday, the embattled politician exuded confidence that it is through immense social media pressure that this administration can feel the heat and leave power.
And should this not be enough, he advised that a lasting strategy would be for the young men and women to register as voters in readiness for the next general election.
“It’s not enough what the Gen Zs are doing on social spaces. They should now start registering so that the deserved change can happen through the ballot. That is how we can be sure of removing this regime from power,” he stated.
But as he was saying this, miles away in Bungoma, Interior Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen faulted social media users saying it is high time laws governing misuse of social media are revised so that to curb misinformation and abuse of such free spaces.
Murkomen added that the Cyber Crime Act should be revised and stricter measures introduced against anyone trying to abuse the platform.
According to the CS, developed world has put stringent measures to help correct usage of X, Facebook and Tik Tok platforms hence bringing sanity in their countries.
