Gachagua – Kindiki Must Sing Songs of his Boss, I Refused

Embattled former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has claimed that Statehouse operatives wanted to force him to support Adani-JKIA deals.

Addressing this on NTV live interview today Sunday December 1, the politician explained in details that his fallout with his boss William Ruto was due to bad policies in the government and which he could not stand.

“I was being told to support Adani. I said nothing about the issue. One of the people around the President called me and really abused me, that government was being attacked and I did not defend it. How can I defend theft? I cannot defend corruption. I am a man of integrity,” Gachagua noted.

He went ahead to claim that the state operatives would call and intimidate him to support Adani and other and policies that were marred by corruption but he would refuse what then led to his impeachment.

The ex DP remarked that there are some good policies which he supported like the tea programme and any other that was done above board.

“I am a man of integrity. I defended openly good policies like tea reforms and anything above board to serve the public interest. But when it came to defending corruption and theft of public funds, I told my boss forgive me”.

The former DP said, the reason he stood firm against ills in government is because he was elected by the people, unlike the current DP Kithure Kindiki who must sing the song of his boss or face an axe.

“Am answerable to the people. Kindiki is an appointee and must defend whatever Ruto says. Myself I was an employee of the people and could not defend anything that was anti-people,” Gachagua further stated.

On the chaos that occurred in Lumuru recently, the politician accused William Ruto’s administration for orchestrating the attack saying the aim was to take his life.

“In fact, I thank God that today I can be alive sited here with you,” he told his host.

The impeached DP went ahead to claim that there was a security meeting held by the county security team in which the idea to allow goons to infiltrate the Limuru burial event was mooted.

He added that the withdrawal of his security detail prior to the Limuru attack was a well worked out scheme to take his life so that Mt Kenya can now lack any string figure to defend the region.
