Gachagua Pushing Ruto and Raila to Unite the Rest of the Country Against Kikuyus

Chris Akali

There is still some room for Dr. William Ruto to beat any other contestant in the next general election should he stick with Raila Odinga.

William Ruto is a tactical politician and he knows he, currently, doesn’t have the required cards to win the next general election if he goes alone. He badly requires Raila. But this Raila, also, has had issues with supporters, of late, so its not a guaranteed win either.

But there is one option that is still left for them. Should William Ruto and his new-found friend Raila Odinga escalate the tribal card dubbed ’41 verses 1′, Kenyans are going to support them just to make sure they beat Kikuyus hands-down. This is a sure card now that Gachagua has made our politics look like a tribal supremacy battle.

Kikuyus will have to blame themselves for allowing Gachagua too much freedom to lead their political lives. The man is taking them towards a wrong route that will set them up against all other tribes. He is directing the entire flock towards a deep ditch. He is angry and wants to solve his issues through anger. I wish he waited his anger to calm down first.

The rest of the country doesn’t like Ruto’s presidency just like Kikuyus have differed with him. But one thing worth of noting is  that the Kikuyus have a different reason against Ruto. They hate him because he impeached Gachagua not because he is messing the country. On the other hand, other Kenyans have  no issue with Gachagua’s removal, they have issues with Ruto’s leadership style.

So if the people of Mt Kenya want the rest of the country to fight Ruto on an account of Gachagua’s removal from office, this will not resonate with the rest of us. Unless Kikuyus give the country a different reason, Raila and Ruto are going to fight back with the infamous ’41 against 1′ rallying call. Believe it or not, this will leave our Mt. Kenya brothers and sisters gnashing their teeth. Mt. Kenya will be exposed badly.

Gachagua should tone down if he wants to somehow appear like he can succeed with his plans.
