Thursday, September 26, 2024 –Deputy President Rogathi Gachgua has claimed that President William Ruto is leading the country towards the wrong direction.
Addressing in Nyeri at Endarasha memorial event, Gachagua reported that the misuse of State security system to undermine his team was back and this is part of a scheme to sideline him from their government.
“The use of the criminal justice system to manage politics is an outdated political strategy that was used in the past.
“This evil scheme is to associate them with violent demonstrations that took place in late June, in a futile attempt to soil my name and hopefully create grounds for the mooted impeachment proceedings against me,” he wrote later on X.
He appealed to his boss President William Ruto to trade carefully because the people of Central who voted for him are watching his every step.
“The people of Mt. Kenya are very trusting, kind and lovely. They thank love with another love and kindness with kindness. They are very forgiving but they don’t forget,” he announced.
The second in command added that Kikuyus from the Mountain have been around for many years and they will still determine next country’s leadership.
Elsewhere, Kimili MP Didmus Barasa shared details on how President William Ruto distributed senior government positions.
In his statement, he reminded DP Gachagua that seven Cabinet slots were given to the people from Central as other regions shared the few remaining.
“President has demonstrated generosity towards the Central Kenya Region by allocating a significant number of government positions to its people. Specifically, he has appointed 7 Cabinet members from the region starting with Kindiki,” noted Barasa.
He, therefore, challenged Gachagua to prove President Ruto otherwise on the matter of trust and allocation of positions.
