Sunday, October 20, 2024 –Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has blamed President William for withdrawing security and cars from while he(Gachagua) was still hospitalised.
Speaking outside Karen Hospital today Sunday October 20, Gachagua regretted supporting Ruto in 2022 to win the presidency.
He said he had never imagined that resident Ruto would turn that vicious and frustrate him out of office.
“It is unfortunate that when I was here in hospital, my brother and friend President William Ruto ordered for the withdrawal of my security. I didn’t know president Ruto can be that vicious,” Rigathi Gachagua remarked.
He said he was persecuted supporting Ruto in 2022 and he is surprised that he has been made the first target in the administration.
The embattled DP pointed out that there are two court orders barring the proceedings of the Senate but the president has ignored all of them to bring to force him out of office.
“All the officers and vehicles were withdrawn from me to cripple my activities as the deputy president. I don’t understand how that can be happening on me who helped him become something,” added Gachagua while flanked by wife Pastor Dorcas.
Gachagua stated further that the aim of President William Ruto is to do away with a strong deputy and appoint a control machine, someone, who can be told what and what not to do without questioning.
He stated that deputy presidents are elected as per the Constitution and no one can, therefore, appoint anyone as his deputy.
The politician, apart from two failed assassinations attempts, added that his case will see him be heard and the truth will be paraded in public because the eleven charges pressed at him are a complete malice and a plot to get rid with a strong deputy to install a puppet.
Elsewhere in Meru County, former Agriculture Cabinet Secretary Mithika Linturi also regretted having worked under President William Ruto.
He pointed out that, without any reason, he was sacked from the Cabinet at the time he was delivering services.
