He said there has been a spirited smear campaign against him that he had blocked Azimio leaders from accessing the Statehouse.

The DP further noted that, his main fear is for the opposition to join the government with an aim of taking up government positions meant for Mt. Kenya people.

He said he is comfortable them coming to meet the head of State but not to start grabbing government positions from Kenya Kwanza.

“This Azimio characters and the press are blaming me. But I take orders from voters.

“Let them come but not to take our positions in this government. They are blaming me that we have blocked them from a Handshake.

“When president goes to Nyanza they start claiming that I am the problem,” he noted.

He also added that the newfound support of this government from the Azimio la Umoja camp was welcome but must be treated with some degree of suspect.

“If they have decided to support William Ruto let them do it in good faith, they are welcome,” added the second in command.

And answering President William Ruto’s recent statement on government shares, Gachagua has said the he will not regret preaching shares in their government.

“I have no apologies for insisting that those who supported Ruto have every right to immensely benefit from his government. If that can bring problems so be it,” he added.
