Wednesday, September 25, 2024 –Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has calmed down as storm to impeach him escalates.
In a meeting with vocal former Laikipia Woman Representative Cate Waruguru at his Karen home, Gachagua was spotted advising her to tone down her attacks so that to avoid further friction at the time political temperatures are almost spilling out.
In their conversation captured in a brief video clip shared with the media, Gachagua was visibly calm and retreated so that to re-strategize. He asked Cate Waruguru to also move back so that to weigh the political happenings in the country and find a better way out.
“I need you to tone down because what you said the other day was quite explosive. told the former lawmaker.
“We don’t have a problem with anyone. Let’s sit back and work for Kenya.” He stated.
Waruguru, of late, had fiercely come out in support of the embattled DP who is almost being taken through an impeachment motion.
The Laikipia County politician, while addressing in Lamu days ago, was heard warning that anyone firing up for an impeachment of Gachagua would be an obvious loser in the next general election.
She also said, Gachagua is not a light weight pushover who anyone can wake up and push out of a government he helped build with his resources and energy.
“We want to tell those bringing impeachment motion; some of them are my sisters and they are looking for signatures to send Gachagua home. People are watching you very closely. Anyone who wants to fight his or her elder brother will be sent home early in the morning,” Ms Waruguru stated.
Her sentiments following those earlier made the DP who asked his boss William Ruto not to haunt him out of office but, instead, allow him to complete his remaining three years.
The embattled deputy also said that it will have a lasting effect should his boss Dr. Ruto allow MPs to go on with their plans to table his impeachment.
