Gideon Moi Speaks About Kalonzo and Azimio

Thursday, March 10, 2022 –Senator Gideon Moi has clarified his stand as far as joining Azimio la Umoja Movement is concerned.

The KANU Party chairman released an official statement on Thursday March 10 in which he claimed that he had not yet joined Raila’s camp of Azimio and that this will only happen through Kalonzo Musyoka’s structured discussion with Raila.

OKA Principals arrive for their press briefing.

“As of now KANU is firmly in OKA and we are united as a coalition. Our position is that our talks with Azimio and any other parties must be structured, open, and honest.

“Therefore, KANU has not changed its position whatsoever as reported by a section of the media. We are committed to the cause of OKA and we are not about to deviate from that path until an amicable position has been attained in the ongoing talks,” Moi stated.

His statement is coming at the time his allies in KANU started piling pressure on him to leave to Azimio because Kalonzo was wasting a lot of time on the matter.

For instance, on March 9 during the launch of the KANU party manifesto, the party Secretary General Nick Salat urged Gideon to chant his own path now that Kalonzo was not easy to convince or maybe he was having another hidden agenda.

“What does your friend want? We have tried to give him everything but he is taking forever to decide. Time is running out. If your partner is not willing, leave him and lead us into Azimio. How long will we babysit him, we have to go,” Salat stated.

The Azimio la Umoja Movement will be unveiling its official flagbearer on Saturday and all affiliate parties are supposed to be present. Whether all OKA principals will be available or not it is not clear.
