Family of the young college boy in Kitale who was stabbed to death by girlfriend has come out to express their shock over the news.
Gladys Kipkorir, the mother of slain Benedict Kiptoo, on Tuesday, said the news broke her heart since the family was preparing for a graduation exercise and that the plans were in top gear to receive the son back home.
Addressing the matter while at Cherengany Hospital in Kitale, the teary and emotional mother recounted how she was informed about the stabbing of her clinical medicine son at the Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC) in Kitale.
“We were in top-notch preparations for our son’s graduation on December 5 when I was called while on duty. I was told that I was required to be in Cherangany hospital as soon as possible in the morning
“I tried to ask what was happening and I was told that Kiptoo had been seriously injured. It was so bad that I did not comprehend what was happening but later on, I was told he was stabbed by his friend,” she further shared.
On the other hand, a broken aunt of the deceased, Rose Bwamu, also expressed the agony the family was subjected to following death of Kiptoo.
The girl who stabbed the boy dead was a fellow student and who has since been arrested.
