Sunday, July 23, 2023 –President William Ruto has challenged the country to use their farms to lower the cost of living.
Speaking in church service on Sunday July 23 in Taita Taveta County, the head of State noted that there was no other way of reducing the price of unga unless people go to their farms to help fight poverty.
He added that the ongoing Azimio laUmoja demonstrations will not make things better for those going to the streets.
“Our opposers are saying that through demonstrations, the cost of living will go down, even by using witchcraft or other means will the cost of unga go down because of demonstrating?” he posed.
Just like he spoke in Vihiga yesterday Saturday July 22, Dr. Ruto has told Taita Taveta residents that they should consider going back to their lands instead of joining Azimio protests that will not help improve their lives.
“If someone wants to demonstrate, they should do it on their farms. That is the only way to solve unga problem,” he said as he laughed amid his address.
Ruto maintained that he will not be allowing destructive protests to go on in the country saying law must be adhered to by everybody.
He promised farmers a subsidized fertilizer and farm inputs adding that farmers need access to stores that are near their homes for easy and quicker access.
Of recent, President Ruto has been out and about meeting his supporters across the country amid intensified demonstrations from Raila’s Azimio.
