Government Cautions Ruto Against Launching Police Stations

Sunday, December 19, 2021 –Deputy President William Ruto has been cautioned against launching police stations around the country unless sanctioned by police boss.

This is after Ruto’s aide Dennis Itumbi on Sunday December 19 made wild allegations that a commissioning plaque bearing William Ruto’s name had been vandalized at Lanet Police Station in Nakuru.

Police Spokesperson Bruno Shioso.

The DP had unveiled a modern police station fully funded through the Constituency Development Fund CDF under the patronage of area Member of Parliament Kimani Ngunjiri.

In his morning allegations, Itumbi linked the vandalism to the National Government Administration Officers (NGAO) who had acted on orders from Interior Cabinet Secretary Dr. Fred Matiang’i.

It was also established by Itumbi’s sources that the said officers had also defaced the CDF branding and instead painted the wall black.

“For the police to be manipulated to vandalize Lanet Police Station after launching it with DP William Ruto truly shows how immature some of us are. According to the CDF Act, all laws were followed and even the branding done as per the Act,” Ngunjiri stated.

But responding to the claims, Police Spokesman Bruno Shioso clarified that the allegations were strange to them but that anything to do with a police station must be left to the Inspector General of Police and not the deputy president.

“Decisions of whichever nature must originate from him and not otherwise. That’s the law, and that’s the Service Standing Orders. Was the alleged opening sanctioned and/or coordinated with the IG or his Office?

“Was due internal process followed? I’d be glad to know that before further comment,” Bruno posed.

Bahati MP Kimani Ngunjiri.

The said police station is among the five which are being constructed by the Constituency Development kitty CDF, being part of ensuring police have a better place to work from.
