Thursday, July 13, 2023 -Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has reacted to the new threats from the opposition to continue with their protests now from Monday to Wednesday.

Addressing in Laikipia County today Thursday July 13, a visibly angry Gachagua described Raila as a blood-thirsty politician whose only happiness is derived from dying youth for his own self-interests.

The DP added that people who have just died in two-day protests held by Azimio are more than 10 and still the opposition leader is threatening to hold more protests from Monday to Wednesday.

He also reminded Raila Odinga that the people of Kenya had rejected him, on the ballot, a total of five times what he must now accept and retire home.

“Raila, how many lives do you want to claim to be happy? People of Kenya rejected you 5 times, you are now 80 years, what are you fighting for?

“You are disturbing our youth every day. I told Uhuru Kenyatta that this man is the problem to this country.

“This country can only have peace when we deal with this old man once and for all”  DP Gachagua firmly stated.

He was speaking moments after Minister for Interior Kithure Kindiki released a statement on the aftermath of the Wednesday Azimio countrywide demos.

Kindiki revealed that his ministry was working all round the clock to arrest about 312 politicians and ring leaders who participated in inciting youth to protest.

“312 people who directly or indirectly planned, orchestrated, or financed yesterday’s violent protests and acts of lawlessness, including a Member of Parliament, have been arrested, and will be charged with various criminal offences,” Kindiki fired.

He promised to make sure the exercise to search for more culprits goes on until violence is nipped in the bud.

“Violent protests that lead to deaths, injury of civilians and security officers, disruption of daily businesses, destruction of private and public property, and looting are acts of lawlessness that can neither be accepted nor tolerated,” the CS added.

The Interior CS wondered how lowering the cost of living for Kenyans could be related to the ongoing acts of violence around the country.

Azimio coalition, however, has promised to stay put with their weekly protests which may now be held three times a week.

Senator Sifuna, while speaking on a morning show on Citizen Tv today Thursday July 13, stated that their boss Raila could announce a Monday to Wednesday Street exercise.
