Sunday, October 17, 2021 –Machakos Governor Dr. Alfred Mutua is a happy man following huge loss Wiper Democratic Party suffered in the latest by-elections held in their region.
On that note, Dr. Alfred Mutua has warned Ukambani Region to stop banking on Mr. Musyoka as their leader because he has no track record of helping residents grow.
Mutua explained that the poverty currently facing Ukambani people was purely created by Kalonzo who uses the situation to hold the region captive for political reasons.
In a bare knuckle attack, Mutua noted that Kalonzo deliberately wants Ukambani people to remain poor so that he can manipulate them as far as he can.
“But truth be told, in the 36 years under the leadership of Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka, the Ukambani region has become poorer, because he is not a man whose politics or ways of life lead us towards development. He has used the principle that as long as people remain poor and ignorant, they will still think that he is the master and he is the one who will be the savior” Mutua expressed.
Mutua who is also the Maendeleo Chap Chap Party leader, however, was happy that slowly the region was bolting out of Musyoka yolk of poverty by embracing different leadership.
He was saying this with regard to the loss the Wiper Democratic Party candidate suffered in Nguu Masumba by-election in Makueni County.
“If you look at the Nguu ward election that just happened the other day, 76 percent of the people rejected Kalonzo Musyoka and rejected Wiper,” he added.
In the race, independent candidate Timothy Maneno won with 2902 votes while United Democratic Alliance UDA candidate Daniel Musau emerged second with 2219. Wiper candidate only managed to garner 1614 votes and came a distant third.
