A group of young mothers and girls have come together in support of Deputy President William Ruto’s presidential bid.
Calling themselves Wasupa Na Ruto, they have claimed to be in support of the DPs 2022 ambitions in a launch they did yesterday November 30.
The women largely fetched from Central Kenya have since shared their detailed manifesto and riding mantra which they claimed has a lot of good things for this country as far as women are concerned.
Through their leadership, they argued hpw he was only the Deputy President who can be able to look into women’s needs and not any other leader.
They therefore rallied all women to support the DPs bid if they wanted to realize their economic agenda and equality.
“As youth we don’t need tax holidays, we need jobs. We are solely focused on ensuring Ruto gets to become the next president since he will deliver on this and more,” Susana Mwende Muthoni who os one of the founding members explained.
The team already has four chapters spread across the country – in Nyandarua, Embu, Mombasa and Kirinyaga counties.
Comprising of purely girls, they have a roadmap that will culminate in massive support to Dr. Ruto with an aim of creating a young leadership from top bottom.
“We as the youth have the capacity and the numbers to effect change,” stated Anne Karimi who also said they would work with any politician who shares the same view as theirs.
During their press briefing held in Nairobi, they could be seen donned in Wasupa Na Ruto T-shirts and carrying a huge banner drumming support for the DP who was not present in the event.
“We may not be having Ruto here today since he didn’t know about this but we will meet soon when he knows about us and what we can do,” one member noted.
This comes at a time Ruto’s main target has been the youths and the suffering citizens who he claims must be supported economically through a leader who thinks like them.
His wheelbarrow initiative was dealt a blow when his political rivals who questioned why he picked on the tool rather than any other reasonable empowerment programme.
