Saturday, January 20, 2024 -A General Service Unit GSU officer has today been arrested over the murder of a young woman in Lang’ata, Nairobi.
News reaching us indicated that police officers attached to Lang’ata Police Station arrested the GSU officer in connection with the death of Nelvin Museti who died on January 10 night with her lifeless body discovered outside her apartment.
The officer was arrested at the unit’s headquarters in Ruaraka, Nairobi, following a forensic analysis of the deceased’s mobile phone, call logs and messages which revealed he was at the deceased’s house on the fateful night.
Detectives report further shows that the GSU officer was in the company of the woman in the apartment where they spent the night, together.
“It was later identified that the GSU officer (name withheld) was found to have been in constant communication with the victim. Further analysis revealed that the subscriber proceeded and joined the victim at her apartment for the night. Additionally, he was found to have purchased the items indicated.
“Further investigations are ongoing to establish where the drinks and what alteration occurred in the apartment on the night of the murder,” the investigation confirmed.
Detective Constable Johnson Wanjohi, who is leading the case, filed an affidavit seeking to detain the suspect for 21 days.
He also explained that the accused might be a flight risk. The affidavit is also aimed at giving the police sufficient time to conclude combing through the scene.
After fetching reliable evidence, the murder charges will be pressed on the suspect.
