Friday, August 2, 2024 ––Newly appointed Secretary General Hassan Omar Hassan has announced his readiness to run the ruling party UDA so that to restore its lost dignity.
Following his appointment in an interim basis, Omar, today Friday, held talks with party officials and staff where he pledged to guide the party towards greater heights.
He noted that his main agenda will be to focus on implementing the Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda, which promises inclusive growth for all.
Their day was characterised by UDA Party staff celebrations at the party headquarters along Ngong Road Nairobi amid the exit of Mr. Cleophas Malala as the party’s secretary general.
In the video clips on many socials, the excited party staff took time to celebrate Malala’s ouster, saying the move will help rejuvenate the party’s existence and programmes as was during the elections.
Therefore, on that note, it was declared by Chairperson Cecile Mbarire that Mr. Hassan Omar takes over the office following the ousting of Malala by the NEC sitting held yesterday Thursday August 1.
“You do recall that there is a rigorous process of elections and I will engage all the organs of the party to make sure we conclude the process smoothly going forward.
“I thank the rank and file of the party led by Governor Cecile Mbarire and other officials for holding the party together amid challenges,” stated Omar.
This was taking place even as the embattled Malala had rushed to the court to acquire court orders stopping his dramatic replacement.
