Thursday, November 11, 2021 –Embakasi East Legislator Babu Owino has found himself in hot soup following his utterances over the chaotic Kondele DP William Ruto’s rally.
Moments after the chaos, Babu took to his Twitter account to support the cowardly behavior of the goons who attacked and chased away DP William Ruto.
In a tweet seen by Homenews.co.ke and linked to him, Owino clearly supported that the youth who pelted stones and destroyed cars in Ruto’s convoy had done a good job for ODM Party leader Raila Odinga and should keep up with the same spirit of protecting their strongholds.
“Kondele Defense Forces KDF. Thank you jeshi la baba led by Joachim Oketch for the good work done. Baba’s bedroom must be protected from takataka,” he tweeted shortly before deleting it.
But taking to his Twitter handle hours later, Law Society of Kenya LSK President Nelson Havi faulted Babu describing him as a man who went to school by mistake.
“Babu Owino makes us who went to school and in particular University of Nairobi, School of Law, Parklands Campus ashamed to imagine that he also went there. An educated imbecile is a danger to the Society and the Nation,” Havi wrote.
The DP, who was on his second-day tour of Luo Nyanza, was stoned in Kondele area with one missile destroying the rear window of his Toyota Landcruiser LX 570.
Also one person was injured in the melee as police lobbed teargas to disperse the rowdy crowds that were getting offhand.
Ruto would quickly be evacuated to a safer place before he resurfaced in Migori County where he blamed the chaos on his ODM Party rivals.
