Havi Faults Media, Says Court Cleared way for Miguna’s Return

Saturday, November 13, 2021 –Law Society of Kenya President Nelson Havi has faulted media for misreporting the Friday court verdict on Miguna Miguna’s return.

Addressing the matter on Friday November 12, Lawyer Havi said the court’s ruling was clear and factual as per their prayers. He added that Justice Hedwig Ongudi ordered Miguna to be allowed back into the country because there were no any red alerts and that nobody had confirmed to the courts that there were any.

According to Havi, the court indicated that the Government of Kenya GoK had not made any official confirmation that there were active red flags on Miguna’s way.

Justice Ongudi emphasized that the State must allow the exiled lawyer to come back home on November 16 as scheduled. This is in accordance to the obligations imposed upon it by law.

“The media has misinterpreted and misreported the ruling and order by Justice Hedwig Ongudi on the red alerts removal request by Miguna Miguna. The Court did not decline to lift the alerts. The Court noted that the Government of Kenya had confirmed that there are no alerts,” Havi noted.
