Sources who reached to us said the judge alongside others were driven to the Directorate of Criminal Investigation DCI headquarters for probing over corruption related allegations.

An impeccable source told the media that Muchelule is linked to some irregularities  which he has to account for.

“He is a man of interest in a matter that detectives have been pursuing for months now. More shall be communicated with time,” the source from the DCI said.

Just recently, President Uhuru Kenyatta denied to promote a total of six judges who were among the 41 judges to be promoted to the Court of Appeal. Though the president refused to give reasons for that, inner circles said he had enough evidence that the said judges were not clean.

“Just like the judges, I too took an oath. It is not open to me to turn a blind eye to reports of our State organs. As long as I serve as President, I will choose right over the convenient, choose the hard over the easy. I am not doing this for myself but for the people of Kenya and for posterity.” Uhuru said.

Others who were not promoted are Justices Joel Ngugi, George Odunga, Weldon Korir, Evans Kiago and Judith Omange.
